Meet our trainers

Azariah Hilo

Azariah Hilo’s journey into dog training began over 11 years ago when he attended a class with his pitbull, Princess. However, the techniques used in that class didn’t sit well with him, sparking a search for a better, more compassionate approach to training. His curiosity led him to the Animal Behavior College (ABC), a discovery that set him on a path he had only dreamed of — helping dogs and their owners build stronger, more joyful relationships through training.

Azariah finds the most rewarding aspect of being a trainer is watching the bond between dog and owner grow. At A to Z Dog Training, he teaches Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience classes, as well as offering private lessons. We are incredibly proud to have Azariah as part of our A to Z Dog Training ‘ohana. His passion for learning is unwavering, as he is currently pursuing service dog training certification through ABC.

When he’s not working as an electrician, training dogs, or rescuing animals, Azariah enjoys surfing and hiking with his three beloved dogs—Princess, Midnight, and Stacks.

Jessie Santana

Jessie Santana’s dog training journey began unexpectedly after observing a private lesson at a friend’s house. With a 20-year background as an ER and intensive care nurse, Jessie was ready for a career change — something that would still allow her to help people but be gentler on her physically.

Watching that lesson sparked a new passion in her. Jessie quickly realized that dog training could offer the meaningful connection she sought, both with people and their dogs! Inspired, she enrolled at the Animal Behavior College (ABC) and successfully transitioned into her new career.

Jessie thrives on helping individuals strengthen their relationships with their dogs, and she loves guiding owners toward achieving more than they ever thought possible with their pets. Jessie finds immense fulfillment in seeing the positive transformations that make dog ownership easier and more enjoyable.

At A to Z Dog Training, Jessie teaches Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience classes. Her expertise and patience have also allowed her to work with rescued dogs that others have struggled to handle. Outside of work, Jessie enjoys quality time with her husband and two children, embracing life both at home and in her new career.
